Prior to commencing consulting, Cameron worked with RMIT University, lecturing in business and information systems in the Business Faculty and data
communications in the Computer Science department.
Cameron was also the National Computer Systems Officer with the Municipal Officers Association. As the sole IT person, this role covered the full
spectrum from hardware specification, procurement, installation and support to software systems design, development and implementation.
Cameron specialises in software development, financial systems analysis and complex financial modelling. He has designed and developed numerous
systems across sectors including education, manufacturing and charitable associations. In addition to software development, Cameron has advanced
excel spreadsheet and database design/development skills.
He has applied these skills in a range of rural and regional local government situations to develop data and information management solutions for a
range of local government problems/situations. This includes rate impact modelling and integrated long-term financial plan models.
Cameron has a Degree in Applied Science (Computer Science), majoring in Software Engineering and Compiler Writing. He was elected a Member of
the Australian Computer Society in 1989 and then honoured with Senior Membership in 2010.
Cameron is a passionate supporter of his local community. He served as a school councillor for seven years, six years as President. He has been a
volunteer fire fighter with the CFA for the last twenty years, including ten years as Captain of the local brigade. He is currently a Deputy Group Officer
and level 3 Incident Controller. Cameron was also a founding member of the Yackandandah Community Development Company, an organisation he
served as company secretary for its first nine years
